Explore Aswan Galaxian: A Playable Sonic World

ASWAN GALAXIAN — SIGNAL GLIDE

A playable sonic world from The GRIN Lab.

Aswan Galaxian: Signal Glide is an experimental browser-based journey through sound, memory, movement, and speculative futures. Built as a prototype for a larger interconnected universe, the project combines Afrofuturist mythology, electronic music culture, interactive storytelling, and immersive visual design into a playable festival experience.

Players drift through three evolving signal zones:

Perihelion — a warm, rhythmic space inspired by ancestry, migration, ritual, and collective memory.

The Cartography Belt — an unstable archive of symbols, transmissions, and fragmented cultural coordinates.

Anehelion — a deep dimension shaped by bass pressure, dub systems, Galaxian exploration and future-facing sonic experimentation.

As you glide through the environment, hidden archive fragments unlock transmissions from the wider Universe — music acts as navigation, movement becomes storytelling, and culture itself is the constellation.

Originally developed as a festival demo and spatial sketch for The GRIN LAB, Signal Glide sits between video game, audiovisual installation, browser artwork, and immersive radio experiment. The project forms part of TheGRINswider exploration into interactive media, worldbuilding, live AV systems, and digital cultural archives.

This is not simply a game world.

It is a signal system.

And the transmission has only just begun.
